A proven leader in the field of heat treatment in Western Canada.
AIHT works closely with clients to customize services based on their specific needs and requirements
Our business specializes in providing high-performance surfacing solutions that can improve wear and corrosion performance, increase fatigue life, and reduce friction and galling. These treatments include:
• Gas Nitriding
• Gas Carburizing
• Induction Hardening
AI Heat Treating is supported by a full metallurgical lab and a team of 3 Ph.D. Metallurgists. Our unique expertise allows us to solve even the toughest problems.
Our state-of-the-art facilities are capable of meeting and exceeding the most stringent industry standards with the highest degree of quality.
Glass bead blasting is an effective surface preparation technique used at Alberta Industrial to mechanically remove oxides, debris, and residue that can interfere with obtaining the best possible surface response in the material.
Many alloys can be thermally processed to change their mechanical properties. The heat-treating procedure depends on the alloy, the mechanical properties required, and the processing history of the steel. We have the equipment and expertise to maximize the performance of customer products.
Gas nitriding is a case hardening process performed at relatively low temperatures to minimize distortion and maintain the mechanical properties of the core. Post-Reaction Oxidation (PROTM) following nitriding provides a professional grey-black surface finish, which can improve corrosion-resistance.
Case Hardening technique which uses a combination of induction heating and water cooling to obtain as-quenched properties at the component surface without affecting the mechanical properties of the core. Induction is a versatile and cost-effective technique, which can be used to produce deep cases (>0.100 in).
Gas carburizing is a high-temperature case-hardening process for low carbon steels that helps with wear-resistance, fatigue, and galling. Carburizing is a popular case hardening method because it is relatively quick (inexpensive), and is capable of achieving both high hardness (>62HRC) and deep case depths (>0.090 in.).
